Slender, grey-green foliage with a rich garlic aroma gives Tulbaghia violacea its common name of Society Garlic. This pretty perennial bears stiffly upright stems of fragrant, pale violet flowers from July. The blooms gather momentum throughout summer and are particularly free flowering by late summer and autumn. Tulbaghia violacea is hardy and remains semi-evergreen, providing much needed colour and texture in winter. This RHS AGM variety makes a lovely feature in damp borders, bog gardens and the very shallowest margins of ponds. Height: 60cm (24″). Spread: 30cm (12″). Planting depth: Zone 1 to 1cm below water level.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
