This grassy perennial forms spreading colonies that make superb ground cover. Tall, upright stems boast boldly striped, variegated foliage and pinkish-white flower heads throughout summer. Commonly known as Gardener’s Garters, Phalaris arundinacea var. picta has a vigorous habit and benefits a from plenty of space to spread. Spectacular in large drifts at the edge of lakes and sizable ponds. Height: 100cm (39″). Spread: 150cm (59″). Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 15cm (6″) below water level.
