Throughout summer, Persicaria bistorta produces upright stems topped with prominent mauve-pink flower spikes. The green leaves are conspicuously veined, creating large spreading clumps of foliage. Common Bistort is an astonishingly resilient hardy perennial that will look after itself once established. Give it plenty of space to wander and let it form natural colonies for the most impressive display. Height: 75cm (30″). Spread: 90cm (36″). Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 15cm (6″) below water level.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
