Loved by cats and gardeners alike, Catmint is a stalwart of the cottage garden planting scheme! Nepeta racemosa ‘Walkers Low’ is a tried and tested variety that well deserves its RHS AGM. Mounds of silvery-green, aromatic foliage spill over the edge of borders to create a soft, hazy appearance. The deep mauve-purple flowers are borne from early summer and, if cut back after the first flush, will continue through to autumn. Like all Catmints, this hardy perennial is always busy with pollinating insects. A superb, low maintenance choice for perennial borders, gravel gardens, edging paths and planting in wildlife areas. Height: 60cm (24″). Spread: 50cm (20″).
Culinary note: The strong, minty/spicy flavoured flowers can be used sparingly in pasta or rice dishes. For more details about edible flowers click here.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
