Developed from a cross between S. meyeri ‘Palibin’ x S. microphylla ‘Superba’ – the result being a dense, dwarf, upright, non-suckering shrub. Wine-red buds open in late spring to reveal panicles of starry pink flowers with the most exquisite fragrance. Lilac Dwarf ‘Tinkerbelle’ is a particularly compact variety with a neat, rounded habit that makes a superb patio shrub. Alternatively plant it in sunny mixed borders, where it will attract plenty of pollinating insects to the garden. Height and spread: 120cm (48”).
Culinary note: Adding the fragrant flowers to cream cheese or even yoghurt for a hint of lemon flavour. For more details about edible flowers click here.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
