Rock Roses are low and spreading evergreen shrubs which thrive in challenging dry situations. They form neat humps of small, greyish-green, linear foliage which will spill over rockeries or border edges providing cover and interest throughout the year. In late spring to early summer, Helianthemum ‘Golden Queen’ is smothered in flat, 5-petalled flowers of a rich golden yellow with an orange centre. If pruned and shaped after flowering, it will keep its lovely hummocky shape and you may even be rewarded with a second flush of flowers later in the summer.
The nectar-rich flowers are a magnet for pollinating insects. Trouble free and easy to grow, this variety is perfect for planting at the front of hot, dry borders and rockeries, and makes a useful addition to coastal gardens. It combines beautifully with other Mediterranean plants such as Cistus and Lavender. Height: 20cm (8″). Spread: 30cm (12″).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
