Glyceria maxima var. variegata produces decorative pink striped, strap-like foliage in spring, which matures to yellow and white as the growing season progresses. This eye-catching hardy perennial grass bears tall stems in summer topped with loose panicles of purple-green flowers. Variegated Reed Sweet-grass has a vigorous habit making it useful for creating broad stands of grassy foliage around large ponds, and associating particularly well with broad-leafed marginal plants.
