The most stunning of Crab Apple trees maybe? Malus ‘Prairifire’ boasts reddish-magenta blossom in spring, accompanied by purple foliage which later turns green. Maroon, cone shaped fruits follow, which mature in autumn and persist well into winter. The fruits are berry-sized and hang onto the tree all throughout winter, providing an excellent source of food for the birds. The bark of this deciduous tree is a glossy dark red and brings character to any garden. Height & Spread: 6m (20′).
