Curious twisted branches give the Corkscrew Hazel a most distinctive appearance. Yellow catkins dangle elegantly from the bare stems in February before the contorted small green leaves unfurl. With its crooked stems, this deciduous shrub makes a superb feature for winter borders, woodland areas, and oriental planting schemes. The twisted stems are much loved by florists too. Corylus avellana ‘Contorta’ is hardy and easy to grow, earning it an RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height and spread: 5m (16’).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
