The glowing stems of this Cornus Duo are just the thing to brighten up the dark days of winter. Although mainly grown for their winter stems, these hardy Dogwoods offer plenty of seasonal interest during the rest of the year. White summer flowers stand out against their bright green foliage in summer, before glossy black berries take their place. The autumn foliage introduces brilliant shades of orange, red and gold to the garden, as a prelude to its bright winter stems. Grow this fiery duo in borders or as an informal hedge for a blaze of colour at the end of the year.
Collection comprises 1 plant each of:
- Cornus sanguinea ‘Winter Flame’ – The autumn foliage turns to a fiery shade of red before falling to reveal spectacular orange, yellow and red stems. Height: 3m (10′). Spread: 2.5m (8′).
- Cornus alba ‘Sibirica’ – Grown for its fiery red stems that bring colour to winter gardens. Height and spread: 3m (10′) if left unpruned.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
