This striking deep water aquatic is instantly recognisable. With its crown submerged in deep water, the oval, dark green leaves of the Water Hyacinth float gracefully on the surface, even remaining semi-evergreen in milder areas. From early Spring, Aponogeton distachyos flowers freely, only pausing to die back briefly in August before continuing to bloom well into Autumn. The gently scented, white blooms are held prominently at the water surface making a worthwhile display. Ideal for creating valuable shade across the surface of the water in outdoor ponds. When grown in the frost free conditions of an indoor pool, this hardy perennial may even flower throughout winter. Height: 90cm (36″). Spread: 120cm (48″).
