The most popular of variegated Maples, Acer platanoides ‘Drummondii’ boasts variegated foliage which creates a bright contrast against darker-leaved trees, delivering interest throughout the season. It forms a medium-sized tree with a broad and dense crown. In spring, it bears yellow-green drooping flowers on bare stems before the leaves emerge that are followed by winged nutlets. The deeply lobed leaves have green centres surrounded by creamy margins, maintaining their colour all summer until autumn when they turn yellow and orange.
Maximum height in 20 years: 8-12m (26-39ft). Spread: 4-8m (13-26ft).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
